Nursing Services
The Wilbarger General Nursing Department consists of
innovative, diverse individuals who are dedicated to
providing care to our patients with compassion, knowledge,
and professional excellence. Our nurses are governed by
the State Board of Nurse Examiners and are directed by the
Hospital Administrator, the Director of Nurses, and by the
Nurse Manager of their department.
Our staff consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational
Nurses, and Nurse Technicians. Each level has its own
challenge and reward. Each level provides services that are
essential and valuable in the care of our patients.
Joe Bob Richie,
Chief Nursing Officer

It is our goal to continue to grow our nurse base to provide
extensive skill and expertise. Many of our nurses have been
"adopted" and have become members of our hospital staff
and some are "home grown". We consider all of them to be a
necessary part of our hospital family.
WGH recognizes the value of education in nursing and
believes the learning does not end with completion of formal
education. It is our desire to provide a variety of professional
development tools and opportunities for our nursing staff.
Recognizing  that the individual must desire clinical expertise
and accept the challenge for continuing their own knowledge
base, we are dedicated to providing the opportunity to take
advanced courses such as:
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life
    Support
  • Pediatric Advanced Life
    Support
  • Neonatal Resuscitation
  • Trauma Nurse Core
    Course
  • EKG Interpretation

Other Nursing Services
provided:
  • Swing Bed Program
  • Monitored Bed Unit
  • Patient Teaching
