The HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey is the first national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients’ perspectives of their hospital care. HCAHPS (pronounced H-caps), is a survey instrument that collects data for measuring what patients’ thought of their hospital experience.
Wilbarger General has collected information on patient satisfaction for several years, but until HCAHPS there was no national standard for collecting and publicly reporting information about patient experience of care that allowed valid comparisons to be made across hospitals locally, regionally and nationally.
In an effort to provide residents of our service area with as much information about our facility as possible, we will always make the most up-to-date HCAHPS available.There is usually about a two month period from the time the information is collected to when it is released. For example, the results of the June survey were not released until August. The HCAHPS scores for the 3rd quarter of the year was also released in August.
