Safety Check For Child Car Seat
April 19, 2017
There will be a safety check for child car seats at Wilbarger General Hospital on Thursday, April 27. The hospital is partnering with the Wilbarger County Texas A&M AgrLife Extension Service and the Texas Department of Transportation for the safety check, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in front of the hospital.
Those who have car seats and want to have them checked to ensure they are installed correctly and also that the car seat is the proper size for the child, will need to turn into the drive leading up to the hospital. There, they will be shown where to take their vehicle so certified child car seat safety technicians can check that the car seat is installed correctly and is the proper size for the child using it.
The child should also be in the vehicle, and you will need to know your child's weight and height.
If the seat is installed incorrectly, the technician will show you the proper way to install the seat. If the seat is no longer the correct size for your child, a new car seat will be given to you at no charge, and the old child car seat will be removed.
