Starting later this month, Wilbarger General Hospital and the Wilbarger County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be presenting a new program “Health Talk Express – Walk-N-Talk” which will be held at the hospital Walking Trail.
The six-week program will begin on Thursday, April 26, and will continue every Thursday through May 31. The program will start at 5:30 p.m., every Thursday. Each week, a new health topic will be discussed, and will then be followed by a session of walking around the WGH Walking Trail.
The six topics that will be discussed over the course of the program are: Get Screened – No Excuses (Overview on Cancer Screenings); Power to Prevent Diabetes; Cholesterol Matters – Be Heart Healthy; Controlling Your Blood Pressure; Act F.A.S.T. to Prevent a Stroke; and Stress Less – Mind Matters.
Each week, the speaker will be a member of the Wilbarger General Medical Group or another staff member from WGH. There is no cost to attend the program, and water and a light snack will be provided each week.
